How I intend to grow in my ministry
will be irrelevant if there is no obedience. Unfortunately, good intentions
will not cut it in the Kingdom of God. All intentions becoming a reality
leading to sanctification will be solely rooted in obedience. It isn’t until I
am fleeing from carnal desires and crucifying the flesh daily, that the Lord
seems to be pleased to continue the work he has started in me. I praise him for
the grace and growth that occurs even when I am disobedient, or else I would be
a hell bound dead man and rightfully so. Yes, we have a grace that
sustains us and righteousness imputed to us that allow us to be presented holy
and blameless before our heavenly father. However, the act of being obedient
and fully satisfied in our Jesus, who sustains and forgives, is the gateway to
growth. My intentions are to continue to dedicate long mornings to private
prayer, intermittent fasting once a week, serving on the mission field by
preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, scripture reading that is both intimate
and meditative, coupled with commentary type exegetical study. I plan on
living simplistic and not fully depending on technology as the primary means of
communication and interactions with others. As well, I plan to give cheerfully
to those who are in need, to bridle my tongue and plead with the Holy Spirit to
only let words of love and encouragement proceed from my mouth, and to have
long periods of silence where I am tuning my ears to hear the spiritual
realm. I yearn to keep Christ at the
forefront of my mind and filter every decision through prayer. To pray before I
start something and to pray after it is complete.
I also intend to memorize as
much scripture as possible to have this readily accessible in times of satanic
attack, and the absence of a Bible. If I want to meditate on the law of the
Lord day and night (Psalm 1:2) then I better have some of it in my head. I
desperately want to remain pure and flee from all forms of sexual immorality,
and passion with my girlfriend. A huge growth comes to me by reading
great books by Godly men who have a deeper insight into the Bible than I do.
They have attained access into the mysteries of Jesus that I believe the Lord
made available through these great writers specifically as a means for us to be
poured into by these great disciples of Jesus, over hundreds of years of
writings. All and all, We have been given the full measure of the Holy Spirit
and are completely sanctified, it’s a matter of getting the fleshly dirt out of
our mind and heart and pursuing obedience and spiritual disciplines, especially
prayer and scripture reading, that enables us to be moved into holiness. There
is definitely the possibility of an increase, and I praise the Lord for that.
